
15-Year-Old Driver Killed, 3 Passengers Injured in Fiery Crash in Stolen Car
LONG BEACH, Calif.—A 15-year-old boy was killed and three other teens were injured in a crash on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway that police May 14 said involved a stolen Kia Optima that collided with a big rig and caught fire. Officers were sent to the 100 block of Jaymills Avenue about 10:10 p.m. Monday “regarding a stolen vehicle,” according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). “The calling party advised her Kia had been stolen, however, she located the vehicle and could see four occupants inside the car,” police said in a statement. “As officers were responding, the vehicle left the area.
