A Labor senator has broken party ranks and called for the prime minister to brand Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip genocide. Western Australia’s Fatima Payman, the first Afghan-Australian Muslim woman in Parliament, issued a strong rebuke of her government’s stance on May 15, which is also Nakba Day.
