Sacramento State University Changes Investment Policy in Response to Pro-Palestinian Protests

California State University Sacramento has agreed to stop investing in companies that “profit from genocide, ethnic cleansing, and activities that violate fundamental human rights” in an agreement with campus pro-Palestinian protesters. School officials updated their investment policy May 7, a week after protesters set up an encampment on campus in protest of the Israel-Hamas war. “[The university] directs its auxiliaries … to investigate socially responsible investment strategies which include not having direct investments in corporations and funds that profit from genocide, ethnic cleansing, and activities that violate fundamental human rights,” the policy now states.
