Former NBA Player Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis Sentenced to 40 Months in Prison for Fraud

Former NBA player Glen “Big Baby” Davis, best known for winning an NBA championship as a rookie with the 2007-08 Boston Celtics, was sentenced on Thursday to 40 months in prison over a fraud scheme. The scheme, in which Mr. Davis was one of 18 former NBA players arrested for back in 2021, was related to the league’s healthcare plan. The players allegedly defrauded the NBA Players’ Health and Welfare Benefit Plan from 2017-20 by submitting false medical claims and then getting reimbursed for them. They used fake invoices that said they had to pay for the phantom procedures out of pocket.
