
Iowa Candy Company Recalls ‘White Coated’ Products Over Salmonella Scare
An Iowa candy company on Monday voluntarily recalled its “white coated confectionary items” distributed in 17 states due to potential salmonella contamination. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published the recall notice, highlighting the risk of salmonella in 29 products made by Palmer Candy Company. The recall affects various brands under the 125-year-old family-run company, including Freshness Guaranteed, Palmer, Sweet Smiles, Snackin’ With The Crew, Casey’s, Sconza Chocolates, Favorite Day Bakery, Sunny Select, Urge!, and Kwik Trip Inc. The products in question, labeled “White Coated Confectionary Items,” were distributed nationwide in retail stores and wholesale.
