China’s communist regime is attempting to broker a new era of cooperation between rival factions in Palestine as hostage negotiations with Israel sputter. Rival Palestinian groups Hamas and Fatah have expressed a willingness to seek reconciliation through dialogue at unity talks in Beijing, China’s foreign ministry said on April 30. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced during an April 30 briefing that the two sides had arrived in Beijing earlier in the week and held an “in-depth and candid dialogue.” The two sides, he added, agreed to further efforts to “promote Palestinian internal unity and reached an agreement on further dialogue.”...
