Candlelight Vigil in Los Angeles Marks 25 Years Since 10,000-Person Appeal in China

Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles April 21 for a candlelight vigil in remembrance of those who have faced severe persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The event also marked the 25th anniversary of a peaceful appeal by 10,000 people in China. Attendees wore yellow shirts featuring the words “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” the core principles of the spiritual practice, and peacefully sat in rows holding candles and portraits of individuals who lost their lives under the Chinese communist regime.
