Strong-Arm Robbery Crew Caught Swiping Scratchers From 7-Elevens

A crew of thieves who stole California Lottery Scratchers from 7-Eleven stores were arrested after being caught in the act by detectives, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said April 16. The crew, three adults and one juvenile, stole $250,000 worth of scratchers during a two-month string of 44 strong-arm robberies, officials said in a press release. They also collected $90,000 from the scratchers. The crew was busted during an investigation by retail-theft detectives, who officials said witnessed the crew jump the counter of a 7-Eleven and steal over $3,000 worth of scratchers. All of those stolen scratchers were recovered, officials said. The adults, whose identities weren’t revealed, were booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility on robbery charges and arraigned April 15 on $100,000 bail at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles....
