
US Army Reserve Major Pleads Guilty to Defrauding Gold Star Families, Pocketing $1.4 Million
A U.S. Army financial counselor, who is also a major in the Army Reserves, has pleaded guilty to defrauding upwards of 20 Gold Star families and related financial crimes in a New Jersey district court. Gold Star families have lost an immediate family member as a result of active military service in a conflict zone. At the moment, upwards of 1.7 million family members in the United States are in this category. The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that 41-year-old Caz Craffy, also known as Carz Craffey, from Colts Neck, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to six counts of wire fraud.
