Australian Government Launches First National Energy Performance Strategy

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water has launched the first National Energy Performance Strategy, providing a long-term framework to help improve energy performance and reduce energy costs. Energy performance includes energy efficiency, defined as using less energy to do the same thing and demand flexibility, varying when and how energy is used. It will also include electrification or fuel switching, which means swapping to electricity powered technologies or other cleaner sources of energy. “Households are partners in our renewable energy transformation.
