
Biden Announces Visit to Site of Deadly Baltimore Bridge Collapse

The White House announced on April 1 that President Joe Biden would visit Baltimore, Maryland, on April 5. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that the president would visit the site of the deadly March 26 Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. The huge cargo ship Dali lost power and crashed into a support pylon, causing major sections of the 1.6-mile-long steel truss bridge to collapse into Patapsco River. Six road workers were killed in the accident that blocked the shipping channel leading to the Port of Baltimore.
