Mountain Lion Kills California Man, Mauls Another

One man is dead and another injured after being attacked by a mountain lion in El Dorado County, California, on March 24, officials say. The two people attacked by the big cat were brothers, aged 18 and 21, who were hunting antler sheds. The younger brother survived the attack. El Dorado Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) said it received a 911 call at 1:13 p.m. about two people who had been attacked by a mountain lion, also known as a cougar or puma, in a remote part of the county, which is about 55 miles northeast of Sacramento. “At 1:34 p.m. EDSO deputies and paramedics arrived in the area, located the reporting party, and began to administer aid,” a sheriff’s office press release explained....
