Fintech Company Executive Amelia Hamer Takes on Labor MP Monique Ryan in Kooyong Contest

Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg will join the fight for the Liberals to win back his old seat after the party selected Amelia Hamer to contest Kooyong at the next federal election. Ms. Hamer, 31, is an executive at a fintech company and the grand-niece of former Victorian premier Rupert ‘Dick’ Hamer. The prized seat in Melbourne’s inner east was held by the Liberal Party from 1945 to 2022, until Independent candidate Monique Ryan won it on a margin of less than three per cent.
