Garland Says He Wouldn’t Have Changed Special Counsel’s Conclusions on Biden

President Joe Biden’s attorney general on March 21 defended himself against critics who were upset when he released a special counsel report on the president’s handling of classified documents without edits or redactions. Special counsel Robert Hur said in the report that President Biden intentionally retained and disclosed classified materials after his eight years as vice president but concluded that no prosecution was warranted. In the 388-page report, which was released by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Mr. Hur also said that the decision not to prosecute stemmed in part from the idea that “at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”...
