FCC Commissioner Says New Bill Would Force TikTok to Sever Ties With CCP Through Divesting

The House’s new bill to mitigate TikTok’s security risks in the United States is “so smart” because it requires TikTok to cut its ties with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), said Brendan Carr, commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The bill aims to protect national security, which differs from privacy laws, Mr. Carr said in an interview on Epoch TV’s “American Thought Leaders” program. Laws that would protect Americans’ data privacy and online child protection laws will not prevent TikTok from jeopardizing American national security, he pointed out.
