
Ineffective Electoral Registration System Risks Disenfranchising Millions: MPs

The UK electoral registration system is neither effective nor efficient, risking the disenfranchisement of as many as 8 million people at the next vote, a group of MPs has warned. Voters in England and Wales will take to the polls in May to elect local government leaders, including mayors and police and crime commissioners. According to a report by the cross-party Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee, the electoral registration system needs urgent review.
