A Supreme Court justice has called the word “woman” problematic, changing it to “person with a vagina” in a recent ruling. Justice Sheilah Martin made the comment in a decision released on March 8 that revolved around an alleged sexual assault from 2017, as first reported by the National Post. In the case, the defendant said he had found the complainant “intoxicated, lost, and distressed one night in downtown Vancouver.” He took her to his place and used her phone to contact her parents.
