A recent barrage of lawsuits is targeting fuel and food companies for their alleged contribution to global warming. States, cities, and counties “are bringing these cases with help from white-shoe law firms, funded by nonprofit money from Big Philanthropy,” according to a recent report by Capital Research. Their goal is to set national policy on essential products like food and fuel without having to go through the process of public debate and consensus that is necessary to passing laws. “In the political process where we decide these things, there’s a lot of trade offs with climate change policy, and it affects everyone,” Robert Stilson, research specialist at Capital Research and author of the Feb. 8 report, told The Epoch Times....
