Fatal Car Park Stabbing in Gold Coast Leads to Murder Charge

A man has been charged with murder after being accused of a fatal stabbing in a Gold Coast shopping centre car park. Police were called to the Hope Island car park on Monday afternoon, March 11, following reports a man had been seriously assaulted. Detective Inspector Mark Mooney on March 12 said they believe the 21-year-old victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife. Paramedics arrived and treated the man who had a chest wound but he died at the scene. A 23-year-old Redbank Plains man was arrested about 5.30pm on March 11 and later charged with murder.
