MEREDITH, N.H.—The steep bowl at Tuckerman Ravine on New Hampshire’s Mount Washington has long made it a favorite spot for expert skiers and snowboarders who are seeking adventure beyond the comparative safety of the state’s ski areas. But hard and icy conditions on Saturday turned the bowl deadly. Madison Saltsburg, 20, died after falling about 600 vertical feet (183 meters) down the ravine in the afternoon, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Two other skiers suffered serious injuries after falling and hitting rocks and ice. And there were a number of other falls witnessed throughout the day which didn’t result in serious injuries, the service said....

Private Company Will Run NZ’s Mobile Speed Cameras

The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) is about to take over the country’s 45 mobile cameras, as well as 150 fixed speed cameras, from police by July 2025. It plans to add another 50 fixed cameras soon.The agency already has a contract with United States company Verro Mobility, which will take over the fixed cameras from later this year. LONDON—Nearly three dozen bodies were removed from a funeral home in northern England, and a man and woman were arrested Sunday on suspicion of fraud and preventing a lawful burial, police said.Humberside Police announced the developments after five days of investigation at three branches of Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull and East Yorkshire.Assistant Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin said 34 bodie
