As national, state, and local governments continue to spend billions of dollars to house, feed, clothe, and provide medical care for millions of illegal migrants, homelessness among U.S. veterans experienced a dramatic rise for the first time in 12 years. A recent report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development details a 7.4 percent increase in veteran homelessness between 2022 and 2023 and estimates that over 35,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.
