Just over one in five Canadians (22 percent) aged 55 to 59 reported in June 2023 that they were either completely or partially retired, according to Statistics Canada. The proportion doubled to more than two in five (45 percent) for those aged 60 to 64. As the number of Canadians set to retire grows, a recent report has identified some great spots for these former workers to enjoy in the new phase in their lives, whether it’s on the west coast, east coast, or somewhere in between. The list, compiled by luxury real estate company Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, did not rank by cost of living or affordability but rather looked at the quality of health-care facilities, welcoming communities, and “breathtaking” scenery....
