Fewer Employers Put Education Requirements in Job Postings This Year, Indeed Says

Job openings that require formal education credentials are “gradually disappearing” this year on Indeed, the popular job search website said. As of this January, some 52 percent of job postings in the United States didn’t come with any education requirements at all. That’s up from 48 percent at the same time in 2019, according to a Feb. 27 report by Indeed Hiring Lab, the company’s economic trend analysis wing. Over the same five-year period, the share of postings requiring at least some kind of formal education has fallen across nearly every schooling level, with postings requiring a bachelor’s degree or above seeing the sharpest job by 2.6 percentage points, the report suggested....
