Federal Agency: Mouthwash Recalled Nationwide Over ‘Risk of Poisoning’

A federal agency said Thursday that a mouthwash sold across the United States is being recalled for a possible child poisoning risk due to the packaging. In an announcement, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said that Heritage Store Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash is being pulled due to no child-resistant packing for products that have a certain amount of ethanol. The mouthwash, it said, should be immediately placed out the reach of anywhere children can access. “The packaging of the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children,” it said. About 102,000 units are now under the recall, said the agency, and it involves the mouthwash in wintermint and eucalyptus mint flavors.
