If medical assistance in death (MAID) had been available to Lia Milousis when she was suffering from depression in high school, the motivational speaker said she would not be alive today. “I reached a point in my life where, very unexpectedly, I found that life became very lacklustre,” she said during a Feb. 27 press conference calling on the Senate to pass Bill C-62 to block the extension of MAID to people suffering solely from mental illness. “There was a monotony to it, it was very tedious, and I often describe it as kind of colour just draining from my world and things being very dark.”...
