SANTA FE, New Mexico—Actor Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter trial is set for July 10 for the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during filming of the Western movie “Rust,” a New Mexico judge ruled on Monday. Should Mr. Baldwin’s case reach trial, it would be remarkable as Hollywood has little precedent for an actor being held criminally responsible for an on-set shooting. Charges against Mr. Baldwin have been dropped once already.
