Locals Celebrate Chinese New Year at Mulberry Senior Center in Middletown

A Chinese New Year celebration hosted by the Asian American Community Alliance of Orange County drew a large crowd to Mulberry Senior Center in Middletown on Feb. 25. Longtime Middletown residents Angel and Alicia Justiniano said they learned about the event from a flyer they saw at the YMCA and enjoyed the cultural performances on stage. “I loved it—it is inspiring and calming,” Ms. Alicia Justiniano told The Epoch Times. “I felt really good about the aura.” Most performances featured classical, folk, or ethnic Chinese dances, along with a traditional costume show, a martial arts demonstration, and New Year songs.
