10-Year-Old Texan Dead After Hit-and-Run Involving Repeat Illegal Immigrant

The family of deceased 10-year-old Alex “AJ” Wise Jr. laid their boy to rest on Saturday, a week after he was fatally injured in a hit-and-run involving an illegal immigrant in Midland, Texas. Alex was walking home from school on Feb. 8 when Rogelio Ortiz-Olivas, a 50-year-old illegal immigrant and serial border offender, struck the young Texan with his black truck and fled. Mr. Ortiz-Olivas was later detained by police from the Midland Police Department and charged with drunk driving and a hit-and-run. But for Alex, after being airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning....
