New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan said on Feb. 15 that former President Donald Trump’s “hush money” trial would proceed with jury selection starting on March 25, multiple outlets reported. Todd Blanche, one of President Trump’s attorneys, called this a “great injustice,” according to Politico. President Trump’s legal team was reportedly pushing for a motion to dismiss while Judge Merchan was set to review the timetable for the trial. The March 25 date puts the trial in the middle of the campaign season and just weeks after Super Tuesday.
