
Edmonton Seeks $82 Million in Damages Over EV Bus Failures Amid Manufacturer Proterra’s Bankruptcy
The City of Edmonton is seeking $82 million in damages from electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Proterra, citing alleged performance failures. Between 2019 and 2022, Edmonton acquired 60 electric buses from the U.S.-based company. In the original contract for the bus acquisition, Proterra had committed to several warranty obligations and asserted that the buses would achieve a specific operation range, as reported by CTV News.
