Falun Gong Caps Off Lunar New Year Parade in Flushing

NEW YORK—The sidewalks of the heart of Flushing, Queens, were packed on Feb. 10 as New Yorkers celebrated the Chinese New Year with a massive parade. Some 50 different groups participated, with floats and banners representing Falun Gong bringing up the rear. “In China, if you saw this, you would have been arrested long ago,” said Zhang Yan, who moved to the United States from China for the freedom that is impossible under China’s ruling communist regime.
