‘Terribly Violent:’ Teen Faces Court After Fatal Stabbing of 70-Year-Old Grandmother

A 15-year-old boy will face court after a 70-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in front of her granddaughter outside a Queensland shopping centre. Vyleen White died shortly after she was stabbed in the chest in the centre’s car park at Redbank Plains, west of Brisbane, while shopping with her six-year-old granddaughter on Feb. 3. CCTV footage showed four youths of interest, described as African in appearance, in an allegedly stolen Hyundai Getz. The boy from Ripley was arrested and charged with unlawful use of the car after he turned himself in at Ipswich Police Station around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. Two more boys have been arrested, while the search for the fourth continues....
