Chinese Students Interrogated, Deported at US Airport for Connections With the CCP

Dozens of Chinese students have been interrogated by U.S. border law enforcement officers, had their visas canceled, and were repatriated at Washington Dulles International Airport for their possible connections with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Chinese Embassy lodged a formal protest against the United States for blocking Chinese students from entry and issued a caution over traveling through Dulles International Airport. Chinese ambassador to the United States Xie Feng said that dozens of Chinese students holding valid visas have been denied entry over the past few months when returning to school from overseas travel or visiting relatives in China, and some were interrogated for 8 hours by officers, according to a post on the Chinese Embassy website on Jan. 29.
