
Rep. Nancy Mace to Face Primary Challenge From Ex-Chief of Staff

Rep. Nancy Mace’s (R-S.C.) former chief of staff has filed to run against her as she seeks reelection to a third term. Daniel Hanlon, whom Ms. Mace reportedly fired last month, filed his statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 26—a week after rumors began to swirl that he was mounting a challenge against his former boss. Mr. Hanlon spent nearly four years working in the Office of Management and Budget under the Trump administration before joining Ms. Mace’s team in January 2021.
