
Chipotle Unveils Plans to Hire 19,000 Workers Ahead of Busy ‘Burrito Season’

American restaurant chain Chipotle has unveiled plans to beef up its workforce ahead of what it calls a busy “burrito season;” with the company looking to recruit nearly 20,000 new employees in the coming months. The Mexican grill chain announced the hiring plans—which come with an array of benefits to workers—in a press release on Jan. 24. Chipotle said it hopes to hire approximately 19,000 new employees to help meet demand during the three-month period from March to May, which the restaurant chain noted tends to be its busiest season or “burrito season.” This year’s hiring target marks a roughly 27 percent increase from Chipotle’s goal of hiring 15,000 new workers through the same season last year....
