Lords Move to Delay Rwanda Treaty Ratification

Labour MP Lord Goldsmith will table motions on Monday in a bid to delay the ratification of the Rwanda migration treaty. Lord Goldsmith, who is chair of the International Agreements Committee (IAC) and was attorney general under former prime minister Sir Tony Blair during the Iraq war, introduced two motions after the IAC published a report saying the treaty shouldn’t be ratified until Parliament is satisfied that the protections it provides have been fully implemented.
