At least 49 U.S. states were under various federal weather alerts as a strong winter storm moved quickly throughout the country, coming after a winter storm brought significant snowfall across areas of the East Coast over the past weekend. “Significant winter storms will track across the Lower 48 through this week,” said the National Weather Service in a bulletin issued on Monday.
