
Americans Split Over US Role in Israel-Hamas Conflict
Americans remain divided over U.S. involvement in the Israel–Hamas war as the conflict extends into the fourth month, a poll shows. In a poll by Gallup released on Jan. 5, 41 percent of Americans say the U.S. involvement in the war is “about the right amount,” 39 percent think “not enough,” and 19 percent say “too much.” It shows partisan divisions among the U.S. public’s views on the war, as 26 percent of Republicans say the United States is doing too much to resolve the conflict, while 11 percent of Democrats say so. Both Republicans and Democrats express equal dissatisfaction, with 40 percent from each side stating that Washington “is not doing enough.” But more Democrats say the U.S. involvement in the conflict is about right with 48 percent, compared with 33 percent among Republicans....
