Amber Alert for Baby Girl Believed Abducted by Mother in Montreal

Montreal police have triggered an Amber Alert for a baby girl allegedly abducted Jan. 2 by her mother. Police say Miryanna Monterrosa-Laberge, 18, did not have custody of one-year-old Zeynab Cherrabi El Alaoui when she allegedly took the child from a home in the city’s Lachine district. The baby girl was reported missing around 9:25 a.m. from her maternal grandparents’ home, where Ms. Monterrosa-Laberge did not reside. “The grandparents went in the room, saw that the child was not in the room and that there was an open window,” Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant said in an interview. “We had reason to believe that she was abducted, so from there we’ve opened an investigation.”...
