
California Secretary of State Leaves Trump on Ballot After Calls to Remove Him

California’s Secretary of State has kept former President Donald Trump on the ballot in the 2024 presidential primary despite multiple states opting to remove his candidacy. Secretary of State Shirley Weber, a Democrat, certified the list of candidates on Dec. 28. The Presidential Primary Election ballot is scheduled to take place on March 5, 2024. The decision by Ms. Weber came just hours after Maine’s Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, whose office oversees elections in the state, ruled that President Trump cannot appear on the primary ballot in the state, citing the “insurrection clause” of the 14th Amendment, to the U.S. Constitution....
