Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to Offer Gift Cards in Exchange for Unwanted Guns

The Los Angeles County Sherriff Department announced it will offer gift cards in exchange for unwanted guns and firearms. Those who want to participate in the exchange can bring unloaded firearms to the Pico Rivera City Hall located at 6615 Passons Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 16, according to an Instagram post by the department. “Exchange any unwanted gun and receive a gift card, no questions asked,” the post said. The department will give $50 gift cards for non-working firearms or parts; $100 gift cards for working pistols, rifles, and shotguns; $200 gift cards for ghost guns—which are guns with no serial numbers—and $300 gift cards for assault rifles such as AR-15s and AK-47s....
