2 People Charged With Murder of Top Australian Doctor

Two people have been charged with murder over the death of renowned South Australian paediatrician Dr. Michael Yung.  Dr. Yung, 61, died at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Dec. 12 after a violent home invasion in Gilberton, inner-north Adelaide, on the morning of Dec. 11. The attack resulted in severe injuries to his head and spine. On Dec. 12, police arrested and charged a 22-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Thebarton with murder, aggravated serious criminal trespass and commit theft using force.  The pair, who have children, appeared at Adelaide Magistrates Court via video link on Dec. 13. The man, with a bruised and swollen left eye, did not seek bail, while Magistrate Michael Jandy will consider the woman’s potential release on home detention bail next Wednesday....

Man Fatally Stabbed on Metro Train in Los Angeles; Suspect Sought

LOS ANGELES—An investigation was continuing Dec. 13 into the fatal stabbing of a man aboard a Metro E Line train in the University Park area.Officers went to the train station in the 2400 block of South Flower Street about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.The injured man, about 25-30 years of age, died at a hospital.
