The Biden administration on Friday announced $8.2 billion in new funding for 10 passenger rail projects across the country, including the first two high-speed rail projects. The investment is part of $66 billion in funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed into law by President Joe Biden in November 2021, which marks the largest investment in passenger rail since the creation of Amtrak 50 years ago, according to the White House.
