Hunter Biden Indicted on 9 Tax Evasion Charges in Special Counsel Probe

A California grand jury has returned a nine-count indictment against Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, charging him with three felony tax offenses and six misdemeanor tax offenses. Special counsel David Weiss announced the indictment on Thursday night, which alleges Mr. Biden spent millions on a lavish lifestyle instead of fulfilling his tax obligations between 2016 and 2019—totaling at least $1.4 million. The new charges come in addition to federal firearms charges filed in Delaware, accusing Mr. Biden of violating a law prohibiting individuals with a history of drug use from possessing firearms in 2018. According to a Department of Justice news release, the charges include three counts of failure to pay taxes for the years 2016, 2017, and 2019, and three counts of failure to file tax returns for the years 2017 and 2018....
