
FBI Director Sounds Alarm on China’s Role in US Drug Crisis
Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray told lawmakers on Dec. 5 that the massive drug threat from China includes fentanyl and other drugs. Mr. Wray spoke to the Senate Judiciary Committee in a hearing that addressed the border, the extension of a surveillance statute, and other issues. Members of the committee questioned Mr. Wray about the use of Chinese chemicals in the production of fentanyl, a deadly narcotic that, despite the small fatal dosage, is transported in large quantities into the United States via the border with Mexico. “We’ve found enough fentanyl to kill 80 percent of the American people?” said Sen.
