New Data Shows Most Movers in California From Texas

For a consecutive year, a majority of residents moving from California left for Texas, according to a recent report by the U.S. Census Bureau. The survey revealed 102,442 residents left the Golden State for Texas in 2022, compared to 107,546 the year prior. California also welcomed more residents from Texas than any other state, with 42,279 new residents from The Lone Star state. The Nov. 21 report measured states’ inward and outward migration, which measures people entering or leaving a state, versus the total number who have moved, including within the state.
