
Ontario Teacher Silenced for Questioning Gender Transition Books in Schools Says Latest Court Win a ‘Victory’
An Ontario teacher who has won the right to move forward with her defamation lawsuit against the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) over a presentation on gender issues says it’s the first step toward clearing her name. “This victory is just one step in a longer journey,” Carolyn Burjoski said in a video posted to social media on Nov. 27. Ms. Burjoski thanked those who supported her in the legal battle. “This is our victory,” she said in the video. “Let’s keep the momentum going.” Ms. Burjoski filed the lawsuit after her presentation to the school board was cut short on Jan. 17, 2022.
