
Town of Avdiivka Facing Russian Attacks From ‘All Directions’: Ukrainian Official
Ukrainian resistance in a flashpoint industrial town is near a breaking point amid renewed Russian onslaughts, a local official said. Russian forces have redoubled their efforts to surround—and capture—the eastern town of Avdiivka, according to a local Ukrainian military official. “Things in the Avdiivka sector have become even tougher,” Vitaliy Barabash, the town’s Kyiv-appointed military governor, told local media on Nov. 27. “The intensity of clashes has been increasing for some time,” he added. Avdiivka is located some 30 miles south of the city of Bakhmut, which fell to Russian forces in May after nine months of fighting.
