Michigan Township Creates Militia to Defend the Right to Bear Arms

  Citing possible “political targeting” under a new state gun confiscation law, the board of Holton Township, Michigan adopted a resolution creating a voluntary community militia dedicated to preserving the constitutional right to bear arms. The resolution by the Republican majority board also declared Holton Township a “Second Amendment Sanctuary Community” in which unconstitutional laws controlling firearms would not be recognized. Half of Michigan’s 83 county governments have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuary counties.
