Ontario Court Gives Teacher Go-Ahead for Defamation Case Against School Board, Chair

An Ontario court has ruled in favour of a teacher who had a presentation shut down at a school board meeting when she raised questions about how some books made it seem “simple” or “cool” to transition genders. Carolyn Burjoski was making a presentation on Jan. 17, 2022, at a Waterloo Regional District School Board (WRDSB) meeting about books that she said made it “seem simple or even cool to take puberty blockers and opposite sex hormones,” according to court documents.
